Helen Ruth Hill Stephenson
Helen Ruth Hill Stephenson, 87, of Oak Hill, died July 9, 2012, at her home.
Born April 4, 1925, at Clay, she was the daughter of the late Hallie and Flora Johnson Hill. Her first husband, Ralph Edmond Stephenson, and a brother, James Hill, also preceded her in death.
She was a retired shoe department clerk for Hill’s Department Store in Beckley.
Mrs. Stephenson was a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Hill.
Surviving: her husband, Walter Russell Stephenson; daughters, Marilyn Feazell and husband Keith of Gatewood and Louella Carte and husband Allen of Hico; brothers, Robert Hill of Cedar Grove, Ind., and Lincoln Hill of Widen; sister, Rebecca Lurlene Doss of Ovapa; grandchildren, Amanda Kees and husband Phillip of Concord, N.C., and Tammy Carte of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandsons, Wyatt Kees of Concord, N.C., and Hunter Carte of Jacksonville, Fla.; and special buddies, Clara, Thad and Jacob Brown of Gatewood.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 12, at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Pete Lokant officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Danny Trent, 60, of Brownsville, died July 7, 2012, at home.
Born July 9, 1951, in Gauley Bridge, he was the son of the late Beuford and Nona Mink Trent. He also was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman and David Trent.
He was a coal miner for Maple Coal Company and a Marine Corps veteran.
Surviving: his wife, Misty Dawn Maynard Trent of Brownsville; sons, Stephen Christopher Trent of Oak Hill, and Michael Brian Trent of Fayetteville; stepson, Josh Sorrell of Fayetteville; stepdaughters, Amy Sorrell of Summersville and Anita Wendall of Fayetteville; brothers, Calvin Trent of Gauley Bridge, Lloyd Trent of Ansted and Beuford Trent of Virginia; sister, Margie Gray of Pinch; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Funeral service was July 11 at the Pennington Funeral Home, Gauley Bridge, with Rev. Charles Blankenship and Rev. Mike Lanham officiating. Burial followed in the Simms United Methodist Church Cemetery, Swiss.
