Glenda Gail Toney Adkins

Glenda Gail Toney Adkins, 71, of Port Orange, Fla., died Dec. 20, 2012

Mary Catherine ‘Kitty’ Roach Brenemen

Mary Catherine “Kitty” Roach Brenemen, 75, of Scarbro, died Dec. 21, 2012, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

Born Sept. 20, 1937, at Quinwood, she was the daughter of the late George Ben and Mary Catherine Walls Roach. She also was preceded in death by a brother, George Ben Roach Jr., and by a sister, Betty J. Boso.

Kitty was a former employee of C&P Telephone and was the office manager for H&R Block. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church at Prosperity.

Surviving: her husband, John G. Brenemen Sr. of Scarbro; her son, John Brenemen Jr. and his wife, Christy, of Scarbro; her granddaughter, Samantha Brenemen Lambert and husband Ryan of Wake Forest, N.C.; a great-grandson, Caleb Lambert; and a sister, Peggy Jacobs and husband Gary of Hubert, N.C.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Dr. Larry Halsey and Pastor Matt Hill officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill.

Randolph Thomas Epperly Sr.

Randolph Thomas Epperly Sr., 87, of Oak Hill, died Dec. 18, 2012, at the Bowers Hospice House.

Born June 10, 1925, at Gatewood, he was the son of the late Earl Owen Epperly and Mary Louise (Moses) Epperly. He also was preceded in death by his loving, wife Rosia Belle Epperly, and brothers, Doug Epperly and Myles Epperly.

He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He was a World War II Navy veteran. During his military service he received the Good Conduct Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the Presidential Unit Commendation Ribbon with one Bronze Star.

After the war, he returned to Fayette County. He worked for Epperly Motor Freight Company in Fayetteville, and he served 30 years as a deputy sheriff in Fayette County before retiring.

Surviving: sons, Randolph Thomas Epperly Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Oak Hill, John Earl Epperly and his wife, Clara, of Richmond, Va., and Michael Wayne Epperly and his wife, Kathy, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sisters, Margarite Null of Fayetteville, Jean Hunt and her husband, Keith, of Hico, Barbara McGuffin and her husband, Emory, of Oak Hill, Betty Nahodil and her husband, Bob, of Jumping Branch, and Shirley Shumaker and her husband, Ray, of Ravenswood; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Dec. 23 at Oak Hill Baptist Church, Oak Hill, with Rev. Bryan Knight and Rev. David White officiating. Entombment followed in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, with military rites conducted by the Oak Hill V.F.W. Post 3110.

The family requests donations in his memory be made to the Oak Hill Baptist Church, 613 Lundale Drive, Oak Hill, WV 25901.

Charles E. Mahan, of Fayetteville, died Dec. 23, 2012, at home.

Marvin Ray Rogers

Marvin Ray Rogers, 56, of Ansted, died at his residence Dec. 22, 2012.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the old Gus Rule family cemetery on Upper Horseshoe Road at Ramsey, with Rev. Freddie Parkins officiating. Burial will follow there in the cemetery.

Robert A. Shuff

Robert A. Shuff, 77, of Ames Heights, died Dec. 17, 2012, following a short illness.

Robert was born July 3, 1935, in Lansing, the son of the late Clyde Shuff and Russie Pike Shuff.

Robert was a retired roof bolter for the coal mine industry and a past employee of Class Six River Runners.

Surviving: his loving wife, Norma of Ames Heights; a daughter, Sonja Horrocks of Water Town, N.Y.; a son, Robert Kevin Shuff of Crawley; a brother, John Shuff of Lansing; grandchildren, Jesse Horrocks, Toni Hiatt, and Audrey Shuff; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Aylan and Levi.

Graveside service was Dec. 23 at Lansing Cemetery in Lansing, with Pastor Kenny Hayes officiating. Burial followed in the cemetery.

Ronnie Zane Williams, 65, of Maple Fork, died Dec. 21, 2012.

Kevin Wayne Wilson

Kevin Wayne Wilson, 48, of Beckley, died Dec. 6, 2012.

Born Nov. 23, 1964, in Montgomery, he was the son of Nancy Jean Steverson and the late David Louis Wilson Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kelly E. and Myrtle Wilson; maternal grandparents, Bettes A. and Georgie Wall; brother, Keith Wilson; sister, Lydia Ann Wilson; and uncles, Thomas A. Wall and Harold Allen Wall.

Kevin liked music, playing the guitar, camping, fishing, and loved animals.

Surviving: his mother, Nancy J. Steverson of Beckley; brother, David Wilson Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; aunt, Peggy Blankenship of Atlanta, Ga.; uncles, Bettes Lee Wall of Oak Hill and Raymond Wall of Topeka, Kan.; niece, Amber Wilson of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, Dustin Wilson of Atlanta, Ga., and Jeremy Wilson of Long Beach, Calif.; and cousins, Kelly Dorsett of Atlanta, Ga., and Briggette Moore of Atlanta, Ga.

Services were Dec. 21, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Gene Miller officiating. Burial followed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
