Sonia V. Aide
Sonia V. Aide, 82, of Summersville, died July 4, 2011, in the Plateau Area Medical Center at Oak Hill.
Born at Winona, July 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James Ray and Grace Lillian Ellison. She also was preceded in death by brothers, Ray, Glen, Roy, Bill and Charles Ellison.
She was a former Oak Hill merchant and moved to Summersville in 1963 with her late husband, Mitchell Andrew Aide Sr., where they owned and operated Aide’s Discount Stores and Aide’s Sav-More for several years.
She was a member of New Life Assembly in Summersville.
Surviving: sons, Mitchell Andrew Aide Jr. of Oak Hill, and Stephen Charles Aide of Summersville; sister, Evelyn Fuller Milton; grandchildren, Leslie Aide, Julie Kincaid and Jeffrey Aide; great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Noah Kincaid; special niece, Patricia Fitzwater and several additional nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were July 8 in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with Pastor Gene Campbell officiating. Burial followed in the Walker Memorial Park at Summersville.

Delia ‘Dee’ Rose Craddock Bowyer
Delia “Dee” Rose Craddock Bowyer, of Bradley, died July 9, 2011, at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley.
Born May 12, 1933, at Long Branch in Fayette County, she was the third daughter of the late Emmett and Gladness Gunnoe Craddock. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Bowyer Duncan; sisters, Emma Rae Craddock and Jean Raines; and an aunt, Geraldine Harless, whom her parents raised as a sister.
She married John Herbert Bowyer on Aug. 19, 1950, and was the mother of three children; Wayne Bowyer, Darlene Bowyer Duncan and Johnnie Bowyer.
Mrs. Bowyer was a retired secretary from Heartland of Beckley and was a member of the Maynor Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving: her husband of 60 years, John Herbert Bowyer; sons, Wayne Bowyer and wife Sandy of Maryland and Johnnie Bowyer and companion T.J. of Bradley; grandchildren, Kimberly Bowyer McCormack of Virginia, and Sammy Duncan Jr. and wife Stacy, and Jimmy Duncan, all of Bradley; great-grandchildren, Christopher Cook of Virginia and Kendall Duncan of Bradley; sisters, Mary Jo Janney of Delaware and Loretta Komisar and husband Jim of Virginia; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and two very special cousins, Launia Blackburn and Anna Daniels.
Graveside rites were held on July 12 at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, with Rev. Jim Bowyer officiating.
