Scarbro, Whipple, Carlisle Reunion — The Scarbro, Whipple, Carlisle Reunion Association has planned its 12th reunion, to be held on June 17-18 at the Lewis Community Center and the Holiday Lodge in Oak Hill. Organizers have not planned a program again this year, leaving time for renewing acquaintances and socializing. There will be a social Friday, June 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis Community Center. Saturday’s social hour will begin at 11 a.m. at the Holiday Lodge with lunch and a photo from noon to 2 p.m. Committee members are Leon Jarosz, president; John “Pro” Mackey, vice president; Norma “Bo” Price, secretary; and Jane Burk, treasurer. Vandall-Sawyers Reunion — The Vandall-Sawyers Family Reunion will be held Saturday, Aug. 6 at Grandview Park at the playground shelter. Participants are asked to bring a meat dish and a side dish and one recipe to be used in a family cookbook. Donations for shelter and supplies would be appreciated. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Page-Kincaid Reunion — The Page-Kincaid Reunion will be Saturday, May 28 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene’s O.C. Rushing Family Life Center, 3221 Main Street East, Oak Hill. For dinner reservations, mail your name and complete mailing address along with $15 (includes your $3 registration fee) per person to Page-Kincaid Reunion, Box 74, Robson WV 25173. Cost is $8 for meal and registration for children under 8. Sandwiches and drinks will be available for purchase, and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. There is a registration fee of $3 for each person in attendance, which includes a name tag and a ticket for door prizes. GBHS All-Class Reunion — Following are upcoming dates related to reunion planning for the All Gauley Bridge High School Reunion: Tuesday, May 10 — Jazz band practice, 6 p.m., gym; and Thursday, May 12 — Meeting, 6 p.m., gym; and band practice, 6 p.m., gym. According to organizer Betty Jo Cole Donato, volunteers are also needed to clean up the school in advance of the reunion. Cleanup will be held on Friday, June 10 beginning at 5 p.m. “Please come out and help us get everything ready,” she said. The reunion will run from Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26. Following is a schedule for Saturday, June 25: 9 a.m. — golf scramble, Hawks Nest State Park Golf Course (those who wish to take part are urged to register with Donato as soon as possible); 1 p.m. — parade through Main Street (lineup at 12:30 p.m. at Scrabble Creek tennis courts; walking entries are advised to meet at the fire department to be placed in the lineup; participants should call or e-mail Donato and tell her what type of entry you will have) 2:30 p.m. — ladies fast-pitch softball game, Neal Field up Scrabble Creek (odd-year teams will play even-year teams; concessions will be available); 3 p.m. to midnight — high school will be open (a representative from Hatcher’s Music in Oak Hill will have a booth to sell CDs of the music of James Warren); 5:30 p.m. — women’s basketball game at the gym (odd-year teams will play even-year teams, and concessions will be available; price of admission is $5, which will cover both games and the sock hop afterwards); 7 p.m. — men’s basketball game at the gym (odd-year teams will play even-year teams, and concessions will be available; this will also feature alumni cheerleaders and jazz band and Mr. Warren); and 8 p.m. (or immediately following second game) to midnight — old fashioned sock hop in the gym (Clarence “Lu Lu” Shepherd will be the deejay).
