Andrew Hardman’s hat trick paced the Collins Middle School varsity soccer team to a 5-1 defeat of Stratton recently.
Mackenzie Miller and Trevor Jones also provided one goal each for the Little Devils.
Miller and Jared Richards each had an assist.
Miranda Jones and Julia Ivey registered three saves each.
In the junior varsity contest, CMS posted a 3-2 triumph.
Dylan Massey scored two goals and Ethan Alderman one for the Little Devils.
Alderman assisted on one of Massey’s goals.
Mason Richardson had four saves.
“Due to a scheduling conflict with the National Junior Honor Society, we were missing two starters from JV and our starting varsity goalkeeper, but the kids stepped up and pulled out the victories,” said assistant coach Jeff Jones.
Collins visits Ansted on Sept. 24 and Bluefield on Sept. 26.
