MONTGOMERY —
The WVU Tech Athletics Department announced two student-athletes of the week for Sept. 12-18. Junior Joe Jackson (men’s soccer) and Sierrah Soto (women’s soccer) headlined the most recent honorees.
Jackson, a forward and the team captain, earned the men’s honor. He has led the Golden Bear men to a 3-0 overall record and No. 1 ranking in the USCAA. This past week, he scored two goals and recorded two assists in a 9-0 victory over the University of Pikeville. So far this season, Jackson has scored three goals on nine shots while tallying three assists.
Jackson is a psychology major from Ontario, Canada.
Soto, a sophomore midfielder, earned the women’s honors for Sept. 12-18. Soto scored two goals on as many shots against Ohio Valley University. The 5-foot-3 Georgetown, Texas native’s second score in last Monday’s game was the decisive goal in the team’s comeback road victory against OVU.
