FMS girls are 4-0

A pair of victories prior to the Christmas break enabled the Fayetteville Middle School girls to improve to 4-0. Below is a review:

Fayetteville 31

Western Greenbrier 25

On Thursday, Dec. 19, the Pirates bolted to a 12-1 lead after one quarter en route to the conquest of Western Greenbrier.

Autumn Hill led Fayetteville with 13 points. Others in the scoring column were: Caroline Fenton, 8; Madison Prichard, 6; Amaya Grant, 2; and Savannah Kincaid, 2.

Myranda Robinson and Brittany Bevins scored nine points each for Western. Makayla Adkins added five and Amanda Church two.

Fayetteville’s Dec. 10 game with Mullens was postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 7:15 p.m. at Fayetteville High School, and its Dec. 17 outing with Greater Beckley Christian was postponed and rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 3 at 7:15 p.m. at Prosperity.

On Monday, Jan. 6, the Pirates face Ansted at 6 p.m. at Fayetteville High School. They will also play at home on Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. against Peterstown.

Meadow Bridge 17

Fayetteville outscored Meadow Bridge 13-6 in the middle two quarters to secure the victory on Dec. 16.

FMS scorers were: Caroline Fenton, 9; Amaya Grant, 5; Autumn Hill, 4; Madison Prichard, 3; and Samantha Holbrook, 2.

Meadow Bridge scorers were: Shauna Harless, 8; Taylor Smith, 4; Kaylie Persinger, 2; Savannah Mullins, 2; and Makayla Church, 1.
