Both Meadow Bridge squads win; Midland Trail girls defeat Cavs

Christian Hedinger poured in 20 points and Austin Canada added 18 to lead Wyoming East past Class AAA Oak Hill Friday.

Jordan Hayes tossed in 15 points for the Warriors (5-0).

Jalen Jones led the Red Devils (2-4) with 14. Marc Logan added 12.

Meadow Bridge outscored Fayetteville 38-20 in the second half to break open a close game and defeat the Pirates Friday at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building.

Logan Pomeroy scorched the nets for 28 points to lead the Wildcats (2-3), while Kyle Judy added 18 points and Kaleb Farr chipped in 10.

Tasheem Saunders scored nine points to lead the Pirates. Teammate Will Dooley added seven.

Morgan Hylton lead the Tigers with 10 points.

Kaitlyn Goodman scored 10 points to lead the Red Devils. Destini Davis added six.

The Patriot girls shook off a sluggish first half by outscoring the Cavaliers 37-17 in the final two quarters to grab the win Thursday at home.

Freshman Haley Nickell scored 15 points and Emily Carte added 10 points and seven rebounds to guide Midland Trail (5-2).

West’s Kristen Harris led all scorers with 19 points.

Logan Pomeroy logged a game-high 23 points to lift the Wildcats past county rival Midland Trail 69-58 Wednesday night for their first win of the season.

Kyle Judy added 15 points for host Meadow Bridge, while Jake Parker contributed eight.

Midland Trail finished with three players in double figures: Collin Carte and Rickie Carter had 15 apiece, while Seth Crosier netted 14.

Nicholas County raced to a commanding lead after three quarters and eased past Fayetteville Thursday at the Fayette County Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building.

Cody McClung led all scorers with 17 points and Zach McCourt added 14 points for the Grizzlies. Jared Tharp scored 10 points and had seven assists.

Will Fenton led the Pirates with 14 points and Caleb Bailes scored 12.
