Oak Hill’s Craig Buchanan was in eighth place with a round of 76 following the first day of the Class AAA state golf championships in Wheeling.
Wheeling Park’s Cole Hand led the triple-A golfers with a round of 72.
University paced the team competition with a low score of 225, while Wheeling Park trailed at 229.
Poca (246) and Charleston Catholic (236) led Class AA and Class A, respectively.
The tournament was to conclude yesterday.
