The Oak Hill boys outscored host Shady Spring 11-2 in overtime Friday to secure the win over their sectional rival.

For the Red Devils, Jalen Jones led all scorers with 28 points and Joey Re added 13 points.

Steven Chhabra had 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Tyler Bonds also scored 16 points and had five blocked shots for the Tigers (6-6).

Tygarts Valley 60

Will Fenton canned five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points as Fayettteville won its second-round consolation game in the West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament Friday.

Tasheem Saunders added 17 for the host Pirates (2-9), who visit Montcalm Tuesday.

Ben Sycafoose scored 19 and Jace Kyle 16 for Tygarts Valley (5-7).

On the heels of Wednesday’s 70-57 win over Sherman in the consolation game of the Big Atlantic Classic, it was the Pirates’ second straight victory after losing nine straight to begin the season.

“We just needed a win bad,” first-year coach Matt Boyd said of his young Pirates Friday. “We’ve been struggling.

“But our freshmen are starting to figure it out and get a little confidence.”

Tygarts Valley (5-7)

Oak Hill (5-10) travels to Fayetteville Monday.
