OHHS will honor senior wrestlers

OAK HILL — The Oak Hill High wrestling program will stage a special ceremony prior to tonight’s home match to recognize three seniors who have made a big impact on the program.

At 6 p.m. at the Lilly Center, seniors Marc Williams, Dakota Miller and Chris Shumaker will be honored during Senior Night activities.

Miller is 19-6 this year and is sixth in the state Class AAA rankings in the 152-pound weight classification, according to www.wvmat.com.

At 22-3, Williams is seventh in the 160-pound class.

And, while unranked, Shumaker has compiled an 18-5 mark at 145. His performances include a recent 4-2 loss to the third-ranked wrestler in his class.

Once the action gets started Thursday, the Red Devils will host Midland Trail, Winfield, Bluefield and Richwood.

Among the other Red Devil grapplers on display will be 113-pound standout Zach McCarthy, sixth in the wvmat.com listing for his classification.
