The Oak Hill girls poured in 39 second half-points to cruise past visiting Liberty for their second win in a row.

Alyssa Barron led the Red Devils with 13 points, while Savannah Keffer and Caelea Teel added 12 points apiece.

Stacy Williams led the Raiders with nine points.

Oak Hill (3-3) plays Shady Spring Dec. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Wildcat Invitational at Meadow Bridge High School.

Seth Crosier nailed a jumper as time expired to lift the Midland Trail boys past Fayetteville Wednesday at the Fayette County Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building.

The Pirates trailed by 14 points with just over four minutes left in the contest and made a furious run down the stretch to take the lead just prior to Crosier’s heroics.

Crosier finished with a game-high 15 points, while Rickie Carter added 12 points and Collin Carte scored 11.

Will Dooley led the Pirates with 13 points and Tasheem Saunders had 10.

Fayetteville (0-3) hosts Greenbrier West Saturday. Midland Trail (2-0) travels to Nicholas County Friday.

On the heels of a winless season in 2012-13, the Oak Hill Red Devils picked up their second win in five games, beating Independence Wednesday night.

“These girls, last year they didn’t win a game,” first-year coach Marshall Murray told The Register-Herald. “Now we’re 2-and-3. It feels good for them. They’re playing much better and starting to get a little more structure. It’s starting to show. We still made too many mistakes but it was a good win.”

Kaitlyn Goodman finished with 16 points to lead Oak Hill. Sarah Kessler added 11 and Caelea Teel chipped in 10.

Jessica Lilly scored 11 for the Patriots.
