Independence 27

On the heels of a winless season in 2012-13, the Oak Hill Red Devils picked up their second win in five games, beating Independence Wednesday night.

“These girls, last year they didn’t win a game,” first-year coach Marshall Murray told The Register-Herald. “Now we’re 2-and-3. It feels good for them. They’re playing much better and starting to get a little more structure. It’s starting to show. We still made too many mistakes but it was a good win.”

Kaitlyn Goodman finished with 16 points to lead Oak Hill. Sarah Kessler added 11 and Caelea Teel chipped in 10.

Jessica Lilly scored 11 for the Patriots.

Senior Caitlin White scored a game-high 18 points to power undefeated Meadow Bridge past Midland Trail 49-35 Wednesday.

Courtney Mullins scored 15 points and Ally Redden chipped in 10 points for the Wildcats.

Jesika Cooper led the Patriots (1-2) with 11 points and Madison Syner scored 10.
