The Valley Middle boys rebounded from a setback to Collins last week by doubling up host Fayetteville, 38-19, on Monday. The Greyhounds raced to a 14-2 lead after one quarter and led 25-5 at intermission.

Valley (8-3) was led by Raeshawn Breckenridge’s 14-point effort. Others in the scoring column were: Keyshawn Payne, 8; Zac Warden, 4; Henry Barron, 9; and Damaria Davis, 3.

NMS coach Richard Petitt said, “The game was a hard-fought battle back and forth in its entirety.”

AMS held a 13-10 lead at halftime. According to Petitt, his squad’s defensive effort in the second half was crucial as the Generals avenged two earlier-season lopsided losses.

The Generals were led in scoring by the efforts of Collin Carte, who tossed in nine points. Other point-producers were: Austin Burdette, 7; Forrest White, 5; and Ryan Dixon, 3.

Rickie Carter tallied 12 points to power the Trailblazers. Dallas Miller added eight and Larry Cavett had three.
