Behind the pitching of Trey Phares, Fayetteville dispatched Nicholas County in Coppinger Tournament baseball action Tuesday night,

Jake Holland went 2-for-4 and Will Dooley was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for the Pirates.

Grizzly Bryce Hunter went 2-for-3.

Fayetteville (12-11) plays at Van at 6 p.m. Friday before facing Richlands, Va. in the Coppinger Tournament semifinals at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

Ciera Workman allowed just two hits and one run to lead the Oak Hill girls past Bluefield Tuesday. Workman also added two hits in the win.

Tempest Bickford had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI, while Mariah Bragg and Hannah Johnson added two hits apiece for Oak Hill (7-8).

Lakyn Morris and Melinda Lawson had one hit apiece for Bluefield.

Oak Hill entertains PikeView at 5:30 p.m. today.

Cavalier pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout, while Kaleb Bolen and Brent Hellmes each smacked a double and drove in two runs to lead Greenbrier West past visiting Meadow Bridge Tuesday.

Chase McClung added two hits and Dustin Yoakum scored two runs for the Cavaliers (9-7).

Shane Harless and Jennings Berry each had one hit for Meadow Bridge.

The Warriors scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth and added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Fayetteville 12-6 Monday.

David Powers drove in three runs, while Christian Hedinger and Hunter Simmons each had a double and two RBIs for East.

Zach Whitten added two hits and an RBI for the Warriors (12-4).

Aaron Krise led the Pirates with three hits, including a home run, a double and two RBIs. Brian Gore added three hits and Trey Phares had two hits, including a double, for Fayetteville.

Raeshawn Breckenridge blasted two home runs and drove in six runs to lead the Greyhounds past Cross Lanes Christian Monday.

Cody Winter also hit a round-tripper and drove in two runs for Valley (15-5), while Mark Hess and Todd Coleman added two hits and two RBIs apiece.

Chad Williams led Cross Lanes Christian with a home run and two RBIs.

Valley hosts Sherman at 5 p.m. today.

The Flying Eagle boys took full advantage of their eight hits to push across 10 runs and defeat the visiting Oak Hill Red Devils last Thursday.

Logan Wriston had two hits and drove in two runs, while Brent Osborne also drove in two runs for Woodrow Wilson.

Daniel Pritt had three hits and two RBIs for Oak Hill (6-11). Wes Stowers and Rick Epperly added two hits each for the Red Devils.

Oak Hill hosts Midland Trail at 10:30 a.m. today, then faces Man and Fayetteville on Saturday.

Cara MacAulay was the winning pitcher and had three hits, while Adrienne Mullins smacked a home run and had two RBIs for Woodrow Wilson.

Emily Lane and Kayla Lawson added two hits apiece for the Lady Flying Eagles.

Morgan Harrah had three hits for Oak Hill.

Montcalm rolled up 16 runs on five hits Monday to cruise past Meadow Bridge.

John Casto and Steven Whittaker recorded five strikeouts each in the win for Montcalm.

Casto, Matt Pennington, Josh Clower and Dakota Lanter had one hit apiece for the Generals.

Zack Wingerd and Shane Harless had two hits apiece for the Wildcats.
