Midland Trail High School hosted a basketball camp for students in grades 6-11 from July 5 to 9.
“It was a very successful camp, with good attendance, good competition, great guest speakers and a lot of fun,” said Patriot boys coach Greg Crist.
Approximately 30 campers from Fayette County, Lincoln County and out-of-state participated.
They learned basketball from an experienced staff that included Crist, assistant Curtis Miller, former Trail coach Jeff Eades, longtime Nuttall Middle coach Bill Kesler, former player Bo Kesler, and New Life Christian head coach Jason Eades.
The players worked in individual stations which included the use of the Shooting Gun, The Dominator and The Halo during the first half of camp. In the second half, they took part in various competitions and games.
The tournament championship winning team was the Warriors, coached by Curtis Miller. Team members were Casey Kessler, Christian Isaacs, Forrest White, Corey Crist and Joel Bracken.
The Magic, coached by Jason Eades, won the situational tournament championship. Team members were Dillon Harper, Jake Howell, Trent May, Carl Hayes and Colton Pack.
