Middle school tourney on tap

The Collins boys and Fayetteville girls are the top seeds in this week’s Fayette County Middle School Basketball Tournament.

Weather permitting, the tournament will welcome six schools from Wednesday to Friday, Feb. 19-21 at the Fayette County Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building in Fayetteville.

It will be hosted by Meadow Bridge High School.

The Fayetteville girls and Valley boys are defending champions.

Pairings are as follows:

Girls

- Wednesday, Feb. 19, 3 p.m. — No. 4 Collins vs. No. 5 Ansted

- Wednesday, Feb. 19, 6 p.m. — No. 3 Meadow Bridge vs. No. 6 Saints Peter and Paul

- Thursday, Feb. 20, 4:30 p.m. — No. 1 Fayetteville vs. Collins-Ansted winner

- Thursday, Feb. 20, 7:30 p.m. — No. 2 Valley vs. Meadow Bridge-Saints Peter and Paul winner

- Friday, Feb. 21, 3 p.m. — consolation

- Friday, Feb. 21, 6 p.m. — championship

Boys

- Wednesday, Feb. 19, 4:30 p.m. — No. 4 Meadow Bridge vs. No. 5 Valley

- Wednesday, Feb. 19, 7:30 p.m. — No. 3 Fayetteville vs. No. 6 Saints Peter and Paul
