Motorcyclist competes well in AMRA event

For The Tribune

OAK HILL — On June 1, local motorcycle racer Steve Legg took his 2009 Harley Davidson Night Train Softail to Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown, Md. for an AMRA (American Motorcycle Racing Association) national event.

With 21 motorcycles in the pro eliminator class (10.90) competing for a 16-bike field, Legg qualified seventh.

Then, after first- and second-round wins, his hopes were halted for an event win as rain ended the event as he headed for the bleach box for the semifinals.

Legg will again seek an event win in competition at Bowling Green, Ky. on June 29 and 30.

He is also currently in search of sponsorship to offset expenditures for the remaining five races — all out-of-state events. Anyone interested in helping the Legg Racing Harley Drag Team can contact him at 304-469-3304.
