Fall Rendezvous set this weekend

The annual Fall Rendezvous, hosted by the West Virginia Bowhunters Association, will be held Friday through Sunday at Pipestem State Park.

Pipestem is a new venue for the event, which had previously been held at Fayette County Park in Beckwith.

It all gets started Friday with a trophy shoot on raccoon 3D animal targets. It will begin at 8 p.m. and last until dark. Cost to enter is $8 per round, $12 for non-WVBA members.

Admission is $6 for adults/youth and $3 for kids 12 and under.

On Saturday, events run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting at 6 p.m., there will be a pig roast and live music performed by Black Whiskey and guest singer Cody Wickline.

The event concludes Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone who joins the WVBA ($20 per family) will get to shoot one round free.

There will be a number of vendors over the three-day event, including Big Bopper Bopping Heads of Oak Hill.

The WVBA benefits communities statewide.

“The West Virginia Bowhunters Association is a non-profit organization that helps out with charities such as National Archery in the Schools, Boy and Girl Scouts, Hunters Helping the Hungry, just to mention a few,” said Roger Collins, the WVBA’s secretary.
