Sports Briefs


— Oak Hill Midget League is having sign-ups for football, cheerleading and dance on June 29 and July 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must have a birth certificate and applicable fees. Physicals are due at the first practice.

A conditioning camp for football is being offered to all ages, starting June 24 at the field. It is open to the public. Times are 6 to 8 p.m. Sign-ups will also be going on during camp.

Anyone interested in coaching is asked to see a board member during sign-ups or send a letter of intent addressed to OHMFL, Box 207, Oak Hill, WV 25901.

The Concord University women’s basketball program will host the Lady Lion Instructional Basketball Camp July 14-16.

The camp is under the direction of Concord University head  women’s basketball coach Kenny Osborne, who was the WVIAC Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2012.  For more information about the camps, contact Osborne by phone at 304-384-5344 or e-mail at coachosborne@concord.edu.

The popular instructional camp for girls ages 8-18 costs $200 for residential campers and $170 for commuters, which includes meals.

Coaches at the college, high school, junior varsity, junior high and recreational league (adult or youth) levels are urged to submit game results and updated statistics to The Fayette Tribune.

When turning in scores or statistics, coaches/statisticians are reminded to provide at least last names of participants; information will not be accepted with only the first name.
