— The Clay County High School annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament fundraiser will be held on March 16 at Clay County High School. It will be hosted this year by the sophomore class.

Teams must have at least three players and no more than six players.

Deadline to enter is March 8.

Cost of pre-pay will be $10 per player, and cost the day of the tourney will be $15 per player.

North American Youth Sports announced still has several remaining openings in its annual spring youth basketball tournament at George Washington High School on March 22-24.

This tournament will feature 10 different brackets. They include 5th-6th grade boys; 5th-6th grade girls; 7th grade boys; 7th grade girls; 8th grade boys; 8th grade girls; 9th-10th grade boys; 9th-10th grade girls; 11th-12th grade boys; and 11th-12th grade girls. All grades are based on the grade in which a student is currently enrolled.

The entry fee for this tournament is $110 and guarantees each team a minimum of two games. There will be awards presented in each bracket.

The entry deadline is March 1.

Coaches at the college, high school, junior varsity, junior high and recreational league (adult or youth) levels are urged to submit game results and/or updated statistics to The Fayette Tribune.

When turning in scores or statistics, coaches/statisticians are reminded to provide at least the last names of participants; information will not be accepted with only the first name.

Spring schedules and rosters can be submitted when available.

Banquet tickets for the 100th celebration dinner in conjunction with the boys state high school basketball tournament in March are now on sale. The banquet will be held on March 12.

Individual tickets are priced at $35 while a reserve table for 10 will cost $400. The goal of the banquet is to create a reunion for teams and individuals that have competed in previous state tournaments.

Everyone purchasing tickets will receive a complimentary pictorial book highlighting the last 100 years of boys basketball.

John Marshall girls basketball and the WV Lady Rebels will once again host the B&B Classic Middle School Girls Basketball Tournament on March 15-17 at the John Marshall High School gyms in Glen Dale.

Entry fee is $150, with a three-game guarantee. There will be three age divisions: 6th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade.

All teams  (school, all-star, travel, club, AAU, etc.) are welcome.
