The Class A No. 10 Valley Greyhounds jumped out to a 37-23 first-half lead and held on to defeat Greenbrier West 70-58 Tuesday in the second round of the West Virginia Hometown Invitational Tournament.
Raeshawn Breckenridge led all scorers with 21 points for Valley, while Keyshawn Payne and Arik McGinnis added 17 points apiece.
Colby Ennis led the Cavaliers with 17 points and Zach Johnson had 13 points.
Valley (10-4) travels to Oak Hill Thursday before playing Buffalo or Richwood Friday in the WVHIT.

Weather permitting, the WVHIT will conclude this Friday and Saturday at the Summersville Arena and Conference Center.
Teams will continue play at their home sites until the weekend.
One of the known weekend matchups has Meadow Bridge (7-7) playing Paden City (11-5) at 8 p.m. on Friday in the Division 2 championship game. Games on Friday begin at 3:30 p.m.
Saturday action starts at 9 a.m. and will conclude with the 7:30 p.m. championship game.
