The Concord University men’s soccer team lost to West Virginia University Institute of Technology on Saturday by a 5-0 score.
On the afternoon, freshman goalie Trevor Hoxworth stopped seven shots for Concord. Hoxworth relieved starting sophomore goalkeeper
Mitchell Thompson 27 minutes into the game. Before exiting, Thompson saved one shot.
Offensively, the Mountain Lions put three shots on goal with sophomores Ryan Forde and Alex Williams and senior Sebastian Escobar registering one shot apiece.
WVU Tech owned a 3-0 lead at halftime before netting two goals in the second half. According to www.goldenbearathletics.com, Tyler Fabian scored two goals and had an assist for Tech. Joe Jackson, Jaime Cortes and Juan Suarez added goals for the Bears.
With the defeat, Concord’s record now stands at 2-3-1 on the season.
Tech is now 7-2-1.
