Wildcats, Greyhounds remain unbeaten in 2013 grid campaign

Meadow Bridge jumped out to a 24-0 first-quarter lead on three Jake Parker touchdown runs (4, 18, 2), and went on to crush host Midland Trail 52-0 Friday.

Parker finished with 181 yards on 21 carries while playing only the first half.

Quarterback Ryan Church had a 59-yard strike to Kaleb Farr and an 8-yard run in the second quarter for a 38-0 halftime lead.

The Wildcats’ defense picked up the first score in the second half when Craig Peters picked off a pass and raced 42 yards for a score. Abber Gelsinger cashed in from four yards out for the final score of the evening for Meadow Bridge.

Kyle Killen had 11 tackles and a quarterback sack for the Wildcats defense.

Meadow Bridge (3-0) hosts Fayetteville in a county showdown Friday.

The Valley Greyhounds jumped out to a 24-0 first-quarter lead and survived a 20-point comeback by Van before pulling away for a 40-20 victory at home Friday.

Dante Wilkerson caught a 49-yard touchdown pass from Raeshawn Breckenridge and ran for two scores (47, 10) to lead the Greyhounds.

Henry Barron-Houchins scored from 6 yards out, and Keyshawn Payne scored on a 45-yard run and ran for 141 yards for Valley,

Valley (2-0) hosts Clay County Friday.
