Can’t make it out to catch a weekend football game live?
Local radio stations will offer numerous opportunities to hear the action from your car, place of business or home this fall.
Fayette County Tourism Radio’s WQAZ 98.5 FM and 101.5 FM will present the following regular season broadcasts, according to Tom Syner:
— Aug. 24 — Elkins at Oak Hill
— Aug. 31 — Midland Trail at Fayetteville
— Sept. 7 — Oak Hill at Princeton
— Sept. 14 — Meadow Bridge at Fayetteville
— Sept. 21 — Fayetteville at Valley
— Sept. 28 — Shady Spring at Oak Hill — Oct. 5 — Point Pleasant at Oak Hill
— Oct. 19 — Oak Hill at Bluefield
— Oct. 26 — Greenbrier West at Fayetteville
— Nov. 2 — Independence at Fayetteville
Shirley Love, Bill Laird and Larry Harrah will handle the announcing chores.
Southern Communications and its various stations will broadcast many games this fall, according to sports director Keith Thompson.
The Groovy Game of the Week will air weekly on Groovy 94.1 FM. Games are as follows:
— Aug. 24 — Midland Trail at Independence
— Aug. 31 — Webster County at Oak Hill
— Sept. 7 — Midland Trail at Meadow Bridge
— Sept. 14 — Princeton at Capital
— Sept. 21 — Sherman at Liberty
— Sept. 28 — Valley at Meadow Bridge
— Oct. 5 — Pendleton County at Valley
— Oct. 12 — Liberty at Independence
— Oct. 19 — Oak Hill at Bluefield
— Oct. 26 — Independence at Wyoming East
— Nov. 2 — Wyoming East at Liberty
— Nov. 9, 16 and 23 — Playoff game TBD
Summers County contests will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 102.3 The Ticket, Shady Spring outings will air on Newstalk WWNR AM 620 and 101.1 FM, WVU will be carried on ESPN Radio 102.3 The Ticket, and Concord will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 102.3 The Ticket.
