Oak Hill 4, PikeView 1




All-stater Thomas Booth registered a hat trick and teammate Alex White tacked on a fourth goal as the host Red Devils won their season-opener 4-1 over PikeView.

Jacob Kemlock assisted on three of the goals and Jay Hurd had one assist as Oak Hill controlled the game from the midfield and the forward positions.

Mark Manning had six saves for the Red Devils.

PikeView scored off a penalty kick.

Oak Hill visited James Monroe Saturday. The Devils play at Greenbrier East at 7 p.m. Tuesday.



Girls soccer



Midland Trail 2, Herbert Hoover 1




Hannah Fitzwater scored both goals for Trail (3-0) Thursday, including the game-winner with eight minutes left to play.

Molly Sevy and Heather Hatcher had assists, while keeper Kayla Stonestreet had one save in goal.

Cassandra Forbes scored for host Herbert Hoover.



PikeView 6, Oak Hill 1



Samantha Wood scored three goals to key the Panthers’ second victory of the season.

Sarah Stafford added two goals and Laura Hill had one, while Amanda Presley had two saves for PikeView

Heather Stevens netted a goal for Oak Hill.



Midland Trail 10, Lincoln County 0



Hannah Fitzwater scored three goals and contributed two assists as the Patriots’ won big.

Molly Sevy and twin sister Mindy Sevy added three goals apiece, while Mindy Sevy dished out three assists. Summer Whipkey also scored a goal.

Savannah Skaggs and Marissa Workman both assisted once.

For Midland Trail (2-0), keeper Alli Syner had three saves, while Morgan Hypes and Heather Hatcher added a save apiece.
