Golden Bear men have winning streak snapped with 70-65 road loss to Davis & Elkins Senators

Former West Virginia Conference foe Davis & Elkins tripped up visiting WVU Tech 70-65 Saturday, stopping the Golden Bears’ six-game winning streak.

Devin Miller had 27 points and four steals to pace the Senators (10-9) in the contest at the McDonnell Center.

Teammate Brian Dixon chipped in 13 points.

Tech, which dipped to 14-10, was led by Stephen Coles, who had 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Also for Tech, Brandon Burgraff chipped in 12 points, all on 3-point goals.

Jaren Marino collected nine points and 11 rebounds, and Ra’Shaud Kincaid (five rebounds) and Leon Cooper Jr. (seven assists, five rebounds) added seven and six points, respectively.

Last Thursday, the Golden Bears cruised by WVU Parkersburg 112-68 for their sixth straight win.

Armond Perez led the way with 26 points and 13 rebounds.

Tech was slated to play Ohio Valley Wednesday night.
