Jacob Childers had two hits for Shady Spring and scored one run.

“I thought we played pretty flat honestly, but not to take anything away from Coach Shaw and his guys,” said Oak Hill coach Chad Quesenberry. “It’s always hard to find a more well-coached team than what Shady has and they showed that again with several bunts and a squeeze play that was executed perfectly.

“We had several opportunities to take control of the game but could never get that timely hit to get us over the hump but that's kind of been what’s defined us so far this season. Hopefully we can take this game and build some momentum heading to sectionals.

“Our record doesn’t show it, but we’ve been battling all year all over the state and we’ve grown up so much the last two months that I think our potential is unlimited.”
