Led by seniors Terrale Clark and David Rawlinson, the WVU Tech men’s basketball team closed out the regular season with an 89-82 victory over WVU Parkersburg Saturday.
Clark and Rawlinson scored 18 points each for the Golden Bears, who registered a 9-0 spurt in the last 3:00 after the Riverhawks pulled to within two points. Rawlinson also had six rebounds, five assists, six turnovers and three steals for Tech.
Junior transfer Armond Perez, making his season debut for Tech, contributed 14 points and six rebounds, and Kornilous Donnell chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds. Jaren Marion passed out four assists.
WVU Parkersburg led early, 17-8, but Tech moved into a slight 22-20 cushion at the 8:43 mark before eventually following a 10-0 run to a 44-39 halftime lead.
The WVU Tech women claimed a 75-56 victory over A.I.I. rival Allen University to conclude their regular season.
Tech (15-13) led 48-25 at the intermission.
Courtney Sturdivant powered the winners’ attack with 21 points. Amy Gardner added 18 points and four assists, and Amber Tully contributed 16 points and three steals.
