On senior night for Webster County, seniors Brett Morris and Hunter Given each recorded a double-double to lead the Highlanders past Midland Trail Thursday. Morris finished with 38 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists, while Given had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Tyler Anderson added 11 points and Robbie Cogar had 10 points for the Highlanders.
Midland Trail was led by Jake Grimmett with 21 points and Rickie Carter with 11 points.
Webster County (17-3) opens sectional play Tuesday against the Braxton County-Ravenswood winner. Midland Trail hosts Fayetteville Monday in its sectional opener.

Logan Pomeroy hit five 3-point baskets, scoring 20 points, and Cody White added 19 to lead the Meadow Bridge Wildcats past host Fayetteville Wednesday.
Kaleb Farr chipped in 11 points and Cole Porter had nine points for the Wildcats.
Tyler McVey led all scorers with 24 points, including six 3-point baskets for the Pirates. Zach Semple added 20 points for Fayetteville.
Fayetteville and Meadow Bridge open sectional play Monday. Fayetteville travels to Midland Trail and Meadow Bridge travels to Richwood.
