Upstart Alderson-Broaddus was eliminated from the quarterfinals of the West Virginia Conference women’s basketball tournament Wednesday in Charleston.
The No. 13 Battlers, who upset Davis & Elkins 58-54 on Monday to move on to Charleston, were defeated by No. 5 Seton Hill 51-45 on Wednesday.
Former Fayetteville High standout Cayla Rhodes scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds for the Battlers in the Seton Hill loss. The 6-foot-1 Rhodes provided 11 points and five boards in the D&E triumph.
Going into the tournament, she was averaging 8.8 points and 5.1 rebounds a game.
