The local boys high school basketball slate will tip off Friday, Dec. 13 with several games, including Class A Fayetteville traveling to the Lilly Center to face Class AAA Oak Hill at 7:30 p.m.
The contest will mark the local debut of new head coaches Wes Brown (Oak Hill) and Matt Boyd (Fayetteville).
“I’m an Oak Hill guy,” said Boyd, an OHHS graduate and an assistant football coach for the Red Devils. “We open up at Oak Hill. It’s going to be different, walking in that gym, going in the visitors locker room and sitting on the visitors bench.”
His transition to the head coaching ranks has gone pretty well, he added.
“The people at Fayetteville have been awesome, and the kids have been great,” Boyd said.
Also tomorrow, the Midland Trail boys entertain Webster County at 7:30 p.m.
