SC’s Kincaid inks with Tech

All-State point guard Ra’Shaud Kincaid has signed a letter-of-intent to attend WVU Tech in the fall and play basketball for the Golden Bears.

Kincaid helped lead South Charleston High School to a 25-3 record in 2012-13 before losing to Woodrow Wilson High School in the West Virginia Class AAA State Tournament semifinals in March.

Kincaid was named second-team All-State in AAA and first-team All-MSAC his senior season. He has been invited to play in the prestigious West Virginia North-South All-Star Game on June 14 at the South Charleston Community Center.

“We are very excited that Ra’Shaud will be joining our program,” said Tech coach Bob Williams. “We recruited him very hard and we believe that he is going to be an exceptional player in our system.

“He’s a very good kid and student, comes from a great family, and has been very well coached at South Charleston.”

Kincaid averaged 10 points and six assists per game this past season, a campaign in which South Charleston was ranked No. 1 in the state for much of the season.

WVU Tech is coming off a 20-12 campaign.
