Host Fayetteville improved to 4-2 Saturday, sweeping a baseball doubleheader with Meadow Bridge, 11-0 and 14-2.

Pitcher Joseph Rinehart yielded two hits and picked up a win in the first game and was helped by Aaron Krise, James Criss and Trey Phares at the plate. Krise finished 2-for-3 with a double, Criss was a perfect 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and Phares was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.

In the nightcap, Jake Holland got the win for the Pirates by allowing just three hits. At the plate, Krise was 2-for-3 with a double, and Criss was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles.

The Fayetteville girls dropped a doubleheader with Sherman and Riverside Saturday to fall to 1-3 on the season.

Sherman picked up a win from Whitney Lewis and was led at the plate by Page Halstead, who was a perfect 3-for-3. Riverside’s Sarah Winter got the win and also went 3-for-3 with a pair of triples.

Maddie Pritt was 1-for-2 with a run scored in the first game for Fayetteville, and Chelby Dorsey had a double.

In the 13-0 setback to Riverside, Kaitlyn Sisler, Kayla Workman and Cassidy Bayes each had hits for the Pirates.

Will Dooley smacked a home run and drove in three runs to lead Fayetteville past Summers County Friday.

Jake Cogar added two hits and Aaron Krise pitched a complete game, giving up just five hits to get the win for Fayetteville.

Aaron Gunnoe hit a home run and drove in two runs to lead the Bobcats, while Jaquan Ayers added two hits.

Allyson Kesler added two hits, while Ashley Gilkerson and Kelsey Norris each had a double for Fayetteville.

Taylor Grimmett, Ashton Lester and Alexis Walls each had a single for Westside.
