The Pirate girls coasted in the mid-week contest.

Jessica Brown led the way for Fayetteville (14-5) with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Avina Sedlock contributed 13 points and Kathryn Peelish scored eight. Erica Hogan scored five points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Other scorers were: Maddie Pritt, 3; Kayla Wood, 2; Sarah Roehrig, 2; and Brandi Richmond, 1.

Maddy Bridges led the Cavaliers with nine points.

Top-seeded Fayetteville begins section play Tuesday at home.

The Class A No. 10 Valley Greyhounds buried 11 3-point buckets and had six players in double figures to roll past county rival Fayetteville Wednesday.

Raeshawn Breckenridge paced the Valley onslaught with 14 points, Arik McGinnis had 12, and Henry Barron added 11. Keyshawn Payne, Zac Warden and Druw Bowen chipped in 10 points apiece.

Zach Semple led Fayetteville with a game-high 17 points.
