Class A No. 9 Valley earned the top seed in next week’s Region 3, Section 2 boys high school basketball tournament.
The Greyhounds and No. 2 seed Greenbrier West will each receive byes on the opening night of Feb. 25 before playing their first games on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Following Valley and Greenbrier West in the seeding are Midland Trail, Richwood, Meadow Bridge and Fayetteville.
Tug Valley, last year’s Class AA state champs who moved down to the single-A ranks this winter, is the top seed in Section 1, and Greater Beckley Christian is No. 2. That section play begins Saturday, Feb. 23.
Section 2 pairings are as follows (each game is in the home gym of the team with the better seeding):
