MONTGOMERY —
The WVU Tech Athletics Department chose juniors Zack White (men’s cross country) and Summer Stokley (women’s volleyball) as student-athletes of the week for Sept. 19-25.
White led the men’s cross country team to a third place finish at the Fighting Scots Invitational held at Ohio Valley University. His individual ninth place effort led the Golden Bears over a European-style 5-K course. So far this season, White has been the first finisher in each race for Tech.
He is an electrical engineering major from Rosedale.
Stokley, a middle hitter, led the volleyball squad to its first win of the 2012 season over WVU Parkersburg. In this match, Stokley recorded 16 kills and three blocks, scoring 19.4 points.
Stokley is a criminal justice major from Wakulla, Fla.
