Several local volleyball players received mention on the various all-state teams announced by the W.Va. Sports Writers Association this past week.
In Class A, Meadow Bridge’s Allison Gilkerson was a second-team pick. Two Fayetteville players — Cassidy Bayes and Jessica Brown — were on the special honorable mention list. Honorable mention choices were Valley’s Lauren Skaggs and Meadow Bridge’s Ashley Wickline.
In Class AAA, Oak Hill’s Madison Smith was a special honorable mention selection, and Riverside’s Sheree Claybourne was an honorable mention choice.
