MB girls, Fayetteville boys pick up basketball victories

The home-standing Beavers got 27 points from Anthony Eades Tuesday to defeat the Red Devils.

Joey Re led Oak Hill with 22 points. Ervin Fruit chipped in 14 and Kadrin Goodman had 10.

Other scorers were: Josh Jones, 4; Kyalo Bradford, 8; and Marc Logan, 2.

The Red Devils (3-12) have home games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week. Tonight at 7:30 p.m., they host Shady Spring. On Friday, Wyoming East visits the Lilly Center for a 7:30 p.m. contest. Then, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., Liberty invades Oak Hill for a makeup game.

Greater Beckley Christian 25

The Wildcat girls finished the regular season 15-5 with the easy win Tuesday.

Chandra Harrah had 15 points, Caitlin White 14 and Sarah Fleshman 12 to pace the ‘Cats. Also scoring were: Allison Gilkerson, 8; Ally Redden, 2; Courtney Mullins, 7; Sam Adkins, 6; and Brittany Pennington, 3.

Kayla Hill led GBC with six points.

Midland Trail 62

Brent Daniels scored 23 points as Class A No. 7 Greater Beckley Christian held off Midland Trail Monday.

Elisha Kidd added 17 points and Javonne Staunton-Bailey scored 15 points for the Crusaders (11-2).

Rickie Carter led Midland Trail with 23 points, Tyler Skaggs had 13 points and Jake Grimmett had 11 points.

Brooke Davis added eight points for the Highlanders.

Kennedy Cochran and Marissa Workman led the Patriots with 11 points apiece.

Midland Trail (5-13) travels to Montcalm Thursday.
