PMC celebrates

National Hospital Week

OAK HILL — During National Hospital Week last week, Plateau Medical Center rolled out the red carpet for its 225 employees.

According to Tammie Miller, human resources/marketing director, the hospital had “something different every day of the week for employees to participate in.”

From CEO David Bunch on down the line, the employees took part in a variety of enjoyable activities, which included a catered lunch, an obstacle course, a donut eating contest, an ice cream social, and the presentation of employee awards.

“This was our chance to show appreciation to our employees for the work they do,” said Miller. “We try to make it a fun week for them.”

Door prizes were also awarded, and each employee received a gift.

On Friday, the hospital presented its 2007 service awards to full- and part-time employees. Those honored were:

25 years — Janie Bowling;

20 years — Marco Bragg;

15 years — Milton Staunton, Rhonda Hanks, Linda Robertson, Gloria Adkins, Peggy Dancy, Gina Workman;

10 years — Karen Elmore, Linda Campbell; and

5 years — Linda Kessler, Leisa Pennington, Vickie Pizzino, Helen Blake, Joni Green, Ester Hinte, Dana Martin, Alison Suptic, Shawn Lesher, Lou Ann Gilkey, Wendy Harrah.
