The annual free Thanksgiving meal, sponsored by the New River Episcopal Ministries in conjunction with other local churches, will be held at the Lewis Community Center on Central Avenue in Oak Hill on Thanksgiving Day.
Meal delivery, carry out and dining room services will be available. Dining room hours are noon to 2 p.m., with no reservations needed.
Volunteers and donations are needed. Individuals, church groups, civic organizations and students are encouraged to participate in food preparation, meal packaging, meal delivery, clean up and dining room service. Food preparation will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 8 a.m. at the Lewis Center. Organizers ask that volunteers bring a sharp knife and cutting board.
Giving back for all your blessings is a rewarding and fulfilling experience felt by all volunteers.
