veterans

Members of Cub Scout Pack 600 at Divide Elementary School have been working over the past few weeks to meet and get to know veterans in their families and communities, as well as to honor the men and women for their service to our country. Dakota Bennett, one such Scout, visited with David Painter in Oak Hill, who served with the 3rd Marine Division during the Cuban Missile Crisis, as well as two tours of Vietnam. All told, Painter did 23 months’ worth of reconnaisance for our nation’s Armed Forces. During the recent visit, he showed Dakota his medals and talked about serving his country. He stressed the heroes were the service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice in dying for freedom.
