Mount Hope-based Harmony for Hope is currently conducting a raffle to serve as a fundraiser.

Just in time for Christmas, HFH is offering local individuals the chance to bid on a Fayette County Old-Time Days advertisement.

Or, individuals can purchase their own advertisement for $250.

"Harmony for Hope is pleased to be able to serve the Mount Hope, West Virginia community," said a representative. "To help keep our work going we rely on donations from people just like you.

"This Christmas we would like to offer you a way to give a unique gift to your family member who loves Fayette County, West Virginia."

The drawing will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.

Calling all Harmony's Kids.

On Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m., Harmony for Hope representatives will teach local children the importance of Veterans Day and honoring the nation's fallen heroes at the same time.

Meet at the Coal Bucket Coffee Shop, where the group's AmeriCorps VISTA, David Scott Worley, will take children on a walk to the Historic Mount Hope Cemetery. Children will help place flags on the graves, as well as learning about the history of the flag.

Children of all ages are welcome. They're urged to bring their parents with them.
