Ornament among those honoring health care workers

The 2020 West Virginia Artistree is adorned with ornaments celebrating Healthcare Workers. “Choosing a Healthcare Workers theme for the Artistree Competition was absolutely the right thing to do this year to highlight all our unsung heroes,” First Lady Cathy Justice said in a press release. “I am so proud of the 69 participants who made an ornament for the Artistree and I encourage everyone who can to visit this special tree,” which is on display in the Great Hall of the State Culture Center in Charleston. Among the ornaments on display on the 2020 Artistree is one crafted by Cathy Kachman in honor of Regina Dufour-Smith, the school nurse at Oak Hill High School. Kachman, who has been teaching in Fayette County for nine years, is the Family and Consumer Science teacher at Oak Hill High. “I just wanted to recognize (Dufour-Smith) for all she does for the students at the school,” Kachman said on Tuesday.
