MOSSY – West Virginia American Water has lifted the precautionary boil water advisory for approximately 200 customers in the Mossy area of Fayette County in the company’s New River water system. The affected area included Rt. 612/Okey Patterson Road below Lick Fork Road, Lick Fork Road, Paint Creek Road, Delta Road, Goode Creek Road, Stover Road, Morris Branch Road, Bishop Branch Road, Milburn Road, Kincaid Road, Spencer Road, Maple Street and Holley Street.
The advisory was issued on May 1 following a water main break on Rt. 612/Okey Patterson Road, which West Virginia American Water crews have repaired. Customers will be notified of the lifting of the advisory by the media and through the CodeRED automated phone notification system.
Results of water quality testing have confirmed that water quality meets drinking water standards. Therefore, there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption.
