Danese woman faces bevy of animal cruelty charges
A Danese woman is facing numerous animal cruelty allegations, according to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley.
Fayette County Sheriff's Department deputies this week responded to a home in the Danese area at which five dogs were found to have never received medical treatment(s) or shots of any kind. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the interior of the home in order to check the welfare of animals inside.
Inside the home were 47 additional dogs and three cats. The animals were living in deplorable conditions with no food or water, authorities said.
Sharon Ann Ward, of Danese, has been charged with 55 counts of animal cruelty.

Monday ATV crashes result in injuries
Two ATV crashes on Memorial Day left multiple individuals injured in Fayette County, according to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley.
On Monday night, first responders were dispatched to an ATV accident under the Meadow River Bridge, a press release from Fridley's office noted. One patient was flown to Charleston due to injuries sustained.
A short time later, another accident was reported in the same area. In the second situation, two ATV occupants were flown to Charleston because of injuries sustained. The individuals involved from both accidents were members of the same group.
Responding to the accidents were members of the Ansted, Nuttall, Wilderness and Summersville fire departments, along with several EMS personnel and the Nicholas County Sheriff's Department.

Drug charges filed against Rainelle man
Drug charges have been filed against a Rainelle man in Fayette County.
According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, a Fayette County Sheriff's Department deputy conducted a stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction on U.S. Route 19 in Fayetteville over the weekend. After a positive indication by a sheriff's department K-9, a search was conducted. A small amount of methamphetamines and a loaded firearm were found in the initial stages of the search. Afterwards, 107 Klonopin pills were discovered concealed on the suspect's person. It was also established that the man is a convicted felon.
Terry W. Patterson, of Rainelle, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver narcotics and being a prohibited person in possession of firearms. He awaits court proceedings, and the incident remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.
