Two men were jailed following an early morning pursuit in Fayette County on Tuesday.

According to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley, Nicholas Plumb of Glen Jean and Kenneth Batey of Oak Hill were arrested after fleeing from officers during an attempted traffic stop.

The pair sped through Legend’s Highway, Thurmond Road and Prudence Road areas before deputies were able to get them to stop at the U.S. Rt. 19 and W.Va. Rt. 17 intersection.

Officers also recovered drugs, money and firearms in the vehicle, according to Fridley.

Plumb is charged with fleeing with reckless indifference, attempt to commit a felony, unlawful assault on a police officer and presentation of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Batey is charged with fleeing with reckless indifference, possession with intent to deliver narcotics and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Both are currently being held at Southern Regional Jail.
