The Meadow Bridge girls claimed their fifth victory on Dec. 29 with the romp over Bath County, Va.

Kierston Rozell tallied 17 points to pace the triumph.

Zoey Jenkins scored eight for Bath County.

The Wildcats (5-1) host Richwood at Rainelle Christian on Jan. 5.

Webster County 36

Trevor Kelley tallied 20 points to lead the Red Devils past the previously-unbeaten Highlanders 60-36 on Jan. 3 in the New River CTC Invitational on Dave Barksdale Court at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.

A 13-0 spurt going into the second quarter elevated Oak Hill into a 26-15 halftime lead. Then, an outlet pass from Ethan Vargo-Thomas to Kelley led to a layup and a 37-16 Red Devil advantage with 5:04 to go in the third frame. Webster never recovered.

Kelley pulled down 12 rebounds to finish the evening with a double-double.

Malachi Lewis added 18 points and seven rebounds, and Ethan Vargo-Thomas provided 14 points and seven assists.

Omar Lewis had five steals and five assists for the Red Devils (4-4).

Rayden Triplett had 15 for Webster (7-1), and Logan Leichliter added 11.

Oak Hill will play Wyoming East at 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.

Summers County built up a 22-12 halftime lead on its way to a 59-44 conquest of Meadow Bridge at Western Greenbrier on Jan. 2.

Cruz Testerman and Michael Judy scored 13 points each for the Bobcats.

Conner Mullins tallied 15 and Brycen Sawyers had 13 for Meadow Bridge (2-5), which plays at Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6.

On Dec. 30, the Wildcats picked up their second victory of the campaign with the six-point decision over Bath County, Va. at Western Greenbrier.

Brycen Sawyers pumped in a game-high 24 points for Meadow Bridge (2-4). Conner Mullins chipped in 18.

Jaden Ryder netted 23 for Bath County.

Oak Hill dropped a pair of games last week in the Little General Battle for the Armory at Beckley. The Red Devils fell 66-37 to Woodrow Wilson on Dec. 27, then lost 57-54 to Calvary Baptist Academy in the consolation on Dec. 29.

Against Calvary Baptist, Oak Hill was led by Trevor Kelley's 15 points and 10 from Malachi Lewis. Omar Lewis and Ethan Vargo-Thomas scored nine each, Jerimiah Jackson tallied eight, and Cole Nelson bucketed three.

Omar Lewis logged five assists and four steals, and Malachi Lewis had four assists.

Calvary was led by a 29-point outburst by Stevie Hicks.

In the setback to Woodrow Wilson, Kelley scored 12 and Malachi Lewis 11 for the Red Devils. Other scorers were: Omar Lewis, 4; Vargo-Thomas, 5; and Jackson, 5.

Jackson had eight rebounds and Malachi Lewis seven. Vargo-Thomas had three assists, and Kelley blocked three shots.

For the Flying Eagles, Elijah Redfern collected 18 points, seven assists and four steals.

Also during the event, Mount Hope Christian lost 79-52 to Charleston Catholic.

Josiah McKoy poured in 26 points for MHC, as well as adding 10 rebounds. Nolan Carney added 18, Branson Miller five and Elijah Williams three.

Jayallen Turner scored 16 to lead the Irish.
