The Collins Middle School baseball squad is enjoying success in its first WVSSAC season.
On March 21, the Red Devils defeated Valley 21-0.
In the Valley contest, Collins received big offensive contributions from several players. That included: Kyler Edwards (2-for-3, double, three RBIs), Gabe Truman (1-4, RBI), Conner Jones (1-for-2, two RBIs), Dylan Tincher (1-for-2, triple, four RBIs), Braylan Thomas (3-for-4, two doubles, three RBIs), Omar Lewis (1-for-3, double, RBI), Jayden McLain (2-for-3, double, two RBIs), Trent Rider (1-for-3, RBI) and Bryson Sapio (run).
Lewis stole three bases.
Rider gained the one-hit pitching win, with relief help from McLain and Truman.

On March 23, the Red Devils scored five runs in the first two innings en route to the shutout of the Pirates.
Dylan Tincher smacked a home run and a double in three at-bats, driving in two runs in the process, to pace the Devils. Also, Kyler Edwards drilled a triple and drove in a run, Gabe Truman had a single and one RBI, Jayden McLain hit a single, and Conner Jones had one RBI.
For Fayetteville, Cody Harrell was 2-for-3 and Jonathan Keith was 1-for-3.
Trent Rider gained the pitching win, striking out five and limiting the Pirates to two hits in four innings. McLain fanned four in a two-inning relief stint.
A seven-run second inning propelled the Red Devils past Princeton on March 20.
Kyler Edwards enjoyed a big game to lead the Collins attack. He was 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored. Gabe Truman was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Dylan Tincher, Braylan Thomas and Trent Rider added a hit apiece, and Zayden Gibson drove in a pair of runs.
Tincher struck out eight Princeton batters in four innings to earn the mound win. Conner Jones fanned five in relief.
A 10-run first inning led CMS past Bluefield on March 19.
For Collins, Dylan Tincher was 2-for-2 and drove in a run, and Kyler Edwards rapped a double and had three RBIs. Conner Jones had a double and knocked in a run, and Gabe Truman had a single.
Hicks drove in a run for Bluefield.
Trent Rider gained the pitching win with relief from Jayden McLain and Jones.
