FAYETTEVILLE — The Fayetteville Middle School baseball team scored four runs in both the second and third innings Wednesday to earn a 9-3 victory over Braxton County.

For the Pirates, Cody Harrell was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Brayden Cox was 1-for-3, Larry Bigham was 1-for-2, Bradley Fink, Cole Nelson and Drew Vaught scored two runs apiece, and Micah McCarraher crossed home plate once.

Miller was 3-for-3 to pace Braxton County.

Bigham allowed one earned run and struck out six Braxton batters in four innings to nail down the mound decision. Cox pitched an inning of relief.

Fayetteville plays at Sherman Tuesday.
